I would have liked to see a consistent approach but instead have to re-navigate each course every semester." Imagine how awful would be for us, faculty that we have to conform to one single pattern? Ugh!! I would NOT like to be in that situation. Since everything is so dynamic and ever changing in these times, why not also our courses? In a way, each professor's course organization revels a bit about the person, don't you think so? BTW, I enjoyed your Hopi video a lot.
