Interesting history of the printing press and its effects on culture and society. http://www.compassrose.com/publishing/printing-press.html

Other innovations soon followed the printing press. After the industrial age, almost everything printed - from labels, to signs - were all produced by these printing presses. The industry progressed very quickly, and the earnings from your average printing press aren't that bad either!
